El editor de texto Yzis

vi vs EmacsCuando parecía que la guerra santa vi vs Emacs había sido reemplazada por vim vs kate, aparece un nuevo jugador en la contienda: Yzis. Yzis es un editor compatible con vim, pero desarrollado usando tecnologías modernas: programación orientada a objetos con C++, separación del motor (una biblioteca llamada libyzis) y las interfaces (ncurses, KDE…), scripts en Lua, etc.

Why this? Según leo en KDE News, este proyecto tiene su origen en las numerosas dificultades con las que se encontraron los desarrolladores de KVim al intentar conseguir un componente que se pudiera embeber en cualquier aplicación. Finalmente decidieron que lo mejor era iniciar un nuevo editor con un buen diseño.

Lo cierto es que están avanzando a un buen ritmo, como se puede apreciar en las capturas de pantalla. Hace unos días se publicó el hito 3, traducido al castellano por Rafael Rodríguez. Habrá que seguirlo de cerca…
